Back to School with Force of Nature Toxin-Free Cleaning Products

Force of Nature toxin-free cleaning products being used to clean a pink lunchbox during back to school season.

What’s actually on your child’s back-to-school supply list this year?

Between the glue sticks and the tissues, there’s almost always a bulk container of Clorox or Lysol wipes. It’s so common that we don’t question it.

But what’s actually in those products matters. Especially when they’re being used around children all day.

This is why I always reach for toxin-free cleaning products instead.

As a retired teacher, this is what I recommend for classrooms: Force of Nature. It’s what I wish I had in my own classroom.

And back-to-school cleaning doesn’t stop at the classroom. Whatever your kids pick up at school comes home with them too.

The good news? Force of Nature can be used at school, at home, and for homeschooling

Why This Matters in Schools and Daycares

The ingredients in conventional disinfecting wipes and sprays are quite concerning.

They can include ingredients that don’t belong around children, like:

  • quaternary ammonium compounds (quats)
  • solvents
  • fragrance ingredients
  • preservatives
  • alcohol
  • phthalates
  • parabens
  • 1,4-dioxane

Some of these ingredients have well-established health concerns, including respiratory hazards.

Quats are one example. One type, benzalkonium chloride, has been linked to asthma and other respiratory problems.

Research has also raised concerns about reproductive and developmental effects.

This really matters in a classroom. Children can be more vulnerable to environmental exposures than adults are.

They breathe more air relative to their body weight. And they touch surfaces and put their hands in their mouths more often.

Many popular disinfecting wipes are marketed for classroom use. Specifically for desks, supplies, tables and other high-touch surfaces.

So it’s not surprising that these products become part of classroom routines.

Cleaning desks might be a job on the classroom chore chart. Or something all students do before or after snack, or at the end of the day.

But conventional cleaners often leave disinfectant residue behind.

Everyone in the room can be exposed to it. And then there’s the potential exposure to the used wipes sitting in the garbage all day.

Why I Recommend Force of Nature

That’s why I recommend Force of Nature.

You get all of the disinfecting power without any of the health concerns. It’s strong enough to handle whatever’s going around the classroom.

Force of Nature is an EPA-registered disinfectant. It’s approved for hospitals, schools and daycares, not just general surfaces.

Independent lab testing shows it performs just as well as leading brands like Clorox, Formula 409, Febreze, and Lysol.

But it doesn’t contain any of the concerning chemicals we’ve been talking about.

No fragrances, dyes, phthalates, preservatives, quats or surfactants.

Force of Nature is made with just 3 ingredients: salt, water and vinegar. The neat part is how it uses electricity to turn them into a cleaner, deodorizer and disinfectant.

It’s also a safe option for use on food-contact surfaces when used as directed. No rinsing required, and no residue left behind.

Force of Nature kills 99.9% of germs when used as directed on hard, non-porous surfaces. This includes the viruses that cause the flu and stomach bugs. The exact kind of thing that spreads fast in a school building. It’s also EPA-approved for use against COVID-19.

The National Eczema Association recognizes it too. That’s important for families dealing with eczema or sensitive skin.

How Easy Is Force of Nature to Make?

I’ve been using Force of Nature exclusively in my own home for about two years. It’s so easy to make! Here’s a quick look at the “magic” :

It’s like magic 🪄!

Just add water to the line, squeeze in the capsule, and press the button.

The blue light blinks while it’s working, and the green light shows it’s ready. It takes about 9 minutes. Just pour it into the spray bottle and you’re ready to go.

Force of Nature Beyond the Classroom

Using Force of Nature to clean some of my back to school supplies.

Your kids don’t leave germs at school. They come home on backpacks, lunch boxes, and everything else that comes through the door.

Force of Nature can handle that too:

  • backpacks (straps, zippers, the bottom)
  • lunch boxes, inside and out
  • reusable water bottles, lids and straws
  • tablets, headphones and other shared electronics
  • sports equipment and gear bags
  • and more

I love how many things I can use it for.

It also replaces a lot of the individual cleaning products you probably use at home:

  • bleach
  • sanitizers
  • glass cleaner
  • kitchen cleaners
  • bathroom cleaners
  • deodorizers
  • disinfectants

All with one product. And it costs up to 80% less per ounce than the leading brands it’s replacing.

A Toxin-Free Option for Homeschool Families

If you’re homeschooling, your space may look different than a traditional classroom. But what you clean that space with still matters.

You get to choose what cleaning products you bring into your home.

Force of Nature can clean your homeschool space, whatever it looks like. It doesn’t need to be rinsed off. So it works just as well on the table you use for lessons as it does on counters, high chairs and toys.

A Great Gift for Teachers

Any teacher I know would be thrilled to get this as a back-to-school gift.

It’s something they’ll use every single day, without concerns for health and safety. Unlike another mug, body lotion, or candle.

It would also make an awesome class gift for Teacher Appreciation Day or the holidays.

Try Force of Nature

Force of Nature checks the boxes I look for in a disinfectant, whether for school or home:

  • EPA-registered and tested to disinfect
  • made from salt, water, vinegar and electricity
  • no bleach or quaternary ammonium compounds
  • no added fragrance, dyes, preservatives or surfactants
  • no residue left behind
  • safe option for use on food-contact surfaces when used as directed

If you’re looking for toxin-free cleaning products, this is the one I recommend for school, homeschool or home.
